Established in January, 1990 in Zhuhai, Canon has a registered capital of USD 65 million and a total investment of USD 198 million. Up to September 2006, Canon Zhuhai had produced 10 million digital cameras. The product line expanded from the sole production of conventional cameras to include digital cameras, color laser printers, multi-function fax machines and CIS. With the staff increase from 104 to over 9,000 and the growth of sales turnover from USD 2 million to USD 1 billion, Canon has become the biggest Japanese-invested enterprise in Zhuhai.
