Founded in 1957 and listed on the Copenhagen Stock Exchange in 1983, Coloplast is a world-known medical device supplier. Coloplast develops, manufactures and markets medical products and services for hospitals and other healthcare institutions.
Coloplast (China) Ltd. was set up in 1995 in Zhuhai Special Economic Zone. It has grown steadily for over a decade and acquired considerable share in the ostomy care market. Branch offices are established in most major cities around China. By the end of 2007, the market capitalization had climbed to RMB 83.83 million (around USD 11.5 million).
In September 2006, Coloplast Group invested USD 100 million to open a new factory of 100,000 ㎡ in Zhuhai. The new factory will cover all of Coloplasts product categories and become the largest production centre of the Group. Products manufactured here will be supplied to the Global market and the sales is expected to reach USD 1.3 billion in the long run.
