Projects in the Encouraged Categories

1. Application with the municipal Administration of Industry and Commerce for the name registration and the name pre-approval for the proposed FIE.

2. Application with the Zhuhai Science, Industry, Trade and Information Technology Bureau for the issuance of Approval Certificate.

3. Registration with the Zhuhai Service Centre for Foreign Investment with presence of the Approval Certificate.

Projects in the Restricted Categories or Projects Otherwise Stated

Submitted for approval by authorities at a higher level via Zhuhai Science, Industry, Trade and Information Technology Bureau .

Approval Right of FDI Projects

1. The Zhuhai Science, Industry, Trade and Information Technology Bureau has the authority to examine and approve foreign investment projects the total investment amount of which does not exceed USD 100 million, if such projects are within the encouraged and permitted categories and not otherwise stated.

2. Authorized by the Zhuhai municipal government, the five economic function zones have the right to examine and approve projects within their own region.

3. For the projects of the non-restricted category to be established in Doumen District, Xiangzhou District and other districts with a total amount of investment below USD 15 million, the relevant districts and function zones can examine and approve them.

4. For the projects with a total amount of investment over USD 100 million: the projects involving import/export licenses and quota; the projects that belong to the restricted categories in the "Catalogue for the Guidance of Industries for Foreign Investment", the Department of Joint Examination and Approval shall conduct joint examination on them and then submit them to the relevant departments of the nation for examination and approval.
